By what I understand, the graduation ceremony is even more____ trivial, boring and insulting, herding the zillion graduates around like cattle, not even giving us our diplomas (just a pretend diploma for all the buck-toothed slower-Delaware parents to shoot their kids with with their disgusting Kodak instamatics or the bulgy upstate farts with their sonic-focus SX-70's, driving down to Newark in their Lincoln Continentals or Gran Marquis' chugging at 2 miles per gallon stinking of expensive after-shave and having dentist office music playing on their in-car quad systems). Then being lumped together with a bunch of smiling chubby graduates to whom college will be a warm fuzzy memory of successions of beer blasts, always to be fondly recalled while working the rest of their lives as insurance underwriters for Allstate insurance. ---------------------------------------- Response 1 of 2 *** A Story by Dr. Graper *** 4/29/80 4:38 pm baum / udperuse / unidel Then they played taped_____ "Pomp and Circumstance," you know, that slow music you always hear on movies when people are graduating. Then the speaker usually stinks or if he's any good you can't hear him because the acoustics are so bad and somewhere along the line you have to listen to the president speak about how proud he is and all that which is such complete lying-through-the-teeth that it makes you wonder. Fortunately, it was rained out.
